Target Planning
The Target Planning process is a helpful tool for setting
goals and eliminating work burnout.
Growing out of the Balanced Life Concept,
Target Planning reasserts that it is appropriate to use one's
business life and experiences as a vehicle for achieving personal,
family and professional goals. Our best days touch all three
areas: work, family and personal development.
To begin the Target Planning process, write down your answers
to the following questions:
| |
What do you really want? |
| |
What would enhance your life? |
| |
What would enhance your job? |
| |
What needs changing? |
| |
What are you willing to do that would affect
that change? |
| |
How would others perceive that change? |
| |
How might you sabotage yourself? |
| |
How could that be prevented? |
| |
If you continue to do what you are doing
now, where will you be in five years? |
Next, using your answers to these questions, begin developing
objectives for your personal and business life:
| |
Someday/5-year personal and business objectives |
| |
3-year personal and business objectives |
| |
1-year personal and business objectives |
| |
1-month personal and business objectives |
